Boys Get Tongues Stuck to Frozen Pole! (A Christmas Story Sequel?)

It was BOUND to happen after the marathon showings of "A Christmas Story." Two kids in one day made national news for it!

"HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) — In a scene straight out of the movie "A Christmas Story," a 10-year-old boy got his tongue stuck to a metal light pole. Police said the unidentified fourth-grader was able to tell them that a friend dared him to lick the pole Wednesday night. Temperatures in Hammond were around 10 degrees at the time." (Source, AP via http://www.newsday.com/)

The boy's tongue was bloodied, but otherwise, he will be okay.

As for the Kansas boy? He will be okay too AND seems to have suffered less. Here is a video of his story: (NBC vide)

Two things all us parents can learn from this:
1) Warn your kids that what happened in the movie is real, will happen.
2) The cure if someone is in this bind...hot water...

Click here if you're considering buying full screen version of the movie: A Christmas Story (Full-Screen Edition)

Two "blooper" reasons to buy the full screen version...
1) When Black Bart is escaping from Ralphie's backyard, the trampoline that he uses to jump over the fence is clearly visible (it was not there in the previous backyard shots, so it's not part of the "furniture"). This is only visible in the Full Frame version; it gets cropped out of the original Wide Screen movie and the Wide Screen DVD version.
2) At the beginning of the movie, a modern TV antenna can be seen on the top of one of the houses. This is only visible in the Full Frame version; it gets cropped out of the original Wide Screen movie and the Wide Screen DVD version.
